In about eight to twelve weeks we will again see our club and gym filled to capacity with enthusiasts who have spent the last six to eight months or longer telling themselves they should workout. For some reason many of us think that when the clock moves from 11:59 on the 31st of December 2014 to 12:01 January 2015 we will magically stop doing everything we have been doing for the last twelve months and change to a set of new behaviors. Most of us who fall into this category have been doing this for many years with marginal results, but keep with the same practices.
At the heart of “changing your approach, changes your way of living” is to understand the differences between what you should do and what we are willing to do. When we permit ourselves to stay aware of these conditions we can start reversing the negatively influenced actions that keeps us grounded in the belief that we need to internalize a list of “should”. We can begin to understand the differences between having a mindset of should and begin to start focusing on the following six conditions that will positively influence our actions.
Make sure that we do not become too comfortable with whatever development we attain, but stay open to the fragile nature of the process we have started so we maintain our effort. What most are not aware of, is “should is a function of outside influences, either to please others or to live up to some idea of how you feel you ought to be. Feeling you should exercise, or reducing your nutritional portions may get you started, but as you may have already discovered, it won’t be enough to keep you going.
Therefore, the underlying theme of “Changing Your Approach Changes Your Way of Living” is, when you decide to change your way of living and want to create a better existence for yourself, remember that your quality of living is a function of how you express it… what you value it to be… what you obtain from it and whether you successfully discover its importance and function, Until next time, “Believe in yourself, Think independently, Persist even when change is slow and above all, Take care of you”.
